During my nearly 11 years at HostBaby.Com, one of the most intensive projects was the build out of a custom Content Management System for our users. Our primary client base, independent musicians, while focused on their musicianship and building a following, generally didn’t have time to learn how to build their own websites or the luxury of funds to hire a professional designer. So we set out to build the perfect tool to help our clients build custom websites with music-focused tools and flexible designs — WITHOUT needing to know a thing about HTML.
Together with our talented developers and project managers, I built out wireframes, mock-ups, and final assets as well as engaging in user testing, polling, and lead the charge on incremental design improvements.
In addition to the backend UI work, I was also tasked with a major redesign of the overall website for HostBaby. The process was iterative, moving through site maps to wireframes to mock-ups with user consultation prior to implementation.
I was also tasked with the UI development of HostBaby’s proprietary audio player to be embedded in our site building tool.
In addition to designing major portions of the administration interface, I was also tasked with sourcing and designing nearly 100 design templates for use in the CMS.
